Week 1: First up!
The Everyone Movement
Five thoughts, one practice and a reflection ahead of our year of formation in Jesus, engagement in Jesus’ body, and journey together within and beyond the Table in 2023.
—-
At the end of the this morning’s message, we talked about a simple 2-minute or so ‘start of day’ practice to cultivate through the week. As a few have asked for this again, we thought we’d put that simple acronym up here.
(btw – just in case you think there may be some layered meaning around APRIL, there’s not…it’s just the word that popped out at the end!)
𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 –
Make your VERY first interaction of the day with Jesus. Acknowledge all over again that He is Lord and have gratitude for God’s gift to you in Jesus. (You can do that lying down but may be helpful to sit on the edge of your bed!)
𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 –
Shape that gratitude into a short prayer that welcomes God presence into your day and your world.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 –
Read a verse or verses of Scripture. If you’re not reading something particular, simply begin with the verse of the day on YouVersion. We’re not talking 30 minutes of reading…we’re talking a verse or two to kickstart a practice. Start small.
𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 –
Invite Holy Spirit to encourage you with this truth through the day so that it can take root in you.
𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 –
That’s all. Start there. And LINGER for a moment…30-60 seconds, as you rest with that invitation.
As I said this morning, if you already have a spiritual rhythm of praying, reading, worshipping…keep doing that. If you don’t, perhaps try beginning with this.
