The Christmas song ‘O Holy Night’ talks of a world that lay for the longest time in ‘sin and error pining until (Jesus) appeared and the soul felt its worth’. The writer goes on to say that that the weary world rejoices at the thrill of hope in the incarnation of God to man.
When God puts skin on to be, in Jesus, the complete revelation of Himself, we get a long-lasting look at what perfect joy, perfect peace, perfect grace and perfect truth look like. In short, they look beautiful, yet not always exactly as we were expecting.
