Week 7: Consecrating something good
NEHEMIAH
Garrick Field wraps up the series on Nehemiah and the Building of Something Good. The last few chapters of Nehemiah are all about the worship that results from an understanding of the sovereignty, goodness and faithfulness of God…and who the Israelites were as his people in the place where His glory dwelt. Consecration culminates in celebration. Worship is the response of a heart that is consecrated before God. It declares God as the Lord of all. The work of the wall had been physical, emotional and communal, and it culminates in the corporate proclamation of God’s law and worship of God. Everyone got in on the action – overtly, personally and corporately.
