The gospel according to Taylor Swift
ONE-OFFS
In this one-off before we resume the normal programming of a new series, we look at ‘The gospel according to Taylor Swift’.
Each one of us has code – a worldview, a set of beliefs and guidelines for understanding the world. Often that’s inherited or a reflection of the culture around us. We pick up knowledge here and there. Our willingness to listen to what God says about us. Our families of origin tell us stuff, culture tells us stuff, social media tells us stuff… and it shapes our understanding of the world. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally. From this, we cobble together our worldview. That’s the little ‘g’ gospel – everyone has one.
In this message, we explore some light, shade and major cultural themes, and the perils of a worldview with Jesus at the periphery.
