Week 15: Good fruit, bad fruit, no fruit
The Sermon
Jesus encourages His disciples to be discerning in seeking truth. To give them tools to establish the authenticity of a what they hear, he calls them to discern on the basis of observed fruitfulness. Fruitfulness is connected with faithfulness. To bear authentic witness to the Good News of Jesus is to bear Gospel fruit and that fruit is to be enjoyed by those around us.
Simon works through Matthew 7:17-20, the part of The Sermon where Jesus looks at the source of the fruit that we produce and how you can pick a fig from a grape – or a lemon.
