Week 2: Humility

Red Letters

There’s a thread woven through God’s Word that reminds us that God gets feisty about pride…because it’s based on a lie about who we are. 

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble”, but when Jesus walks into the room and the temperature changes because though he is the King of Kings, he’s not grabbing at a crown. As much as his disciples want to be part of what they suppose is His earthly Kingdom…he comes low.

To learn true humility, we need more than a definition of greatness, we need even more than Jesus’ personal example of humble service, we need his death.
